Back 2 M·A·C

Through our BACK 2 M·A·C take back program, M∙A∙C is working to reduce the environmental impact of our packaging by helping to reduce the amount of plastic sent to landfill.

Upon returning six empty M∙A∙C makeup containers to a participating M∙A∙C counter or sending via mail, consumers can choose a standard M∙A∙C lipstick of their choosing as a thank you. Please note, Lipsticks provided at no charge cannot be returned or exchanged. Consumers who are M∙A∙C Lover loyalists in-store may choose a standard Lipstick, Lipglass or small Eye Shadow. Consumers who are M∙A∙C Lover loyalists online may choose a Lipstick. Non-members in-store may choose a Lipstick. M·A·C Lover Back-to-M·A·C Expanded is only available in stores at this time. Back 2 M·A·C

Most primary packaging of M·A·C products can be returned as part of the Back-to-M·A·C Program. Primary packaging is packaging used to contain the product itself [e.g. an eye shadow pot, lipstick shell, lash case]. Secondary packaging is used to protect / contain the primary item [e.g. the cardboard box that contains eye shadow].

M·A·C does not accept the following as a part of the program

  • The Pro Palette metal eye shadow / blush / powder pan.
  • Secondary packaging of any sort [paper box, plastic / cellophane wrapper, shopping bags, etc.]
  • Samples [sample containers, special / trial / promotional / travel size Sized to Go / products for promotional / seasonal kits]
  • Cosmetic applicators / tools [disposables, lash applicators, puffs, sponges, scissors, spatulas, swabs, sharpeners, tweezers, curlers]
  • Accessories [bags, belts, makeup cases, Blot Film]
